Happy Spring! I’m sure everyone is looking forward to having our nice weather back. I know my students can’t wait for our class to play on the playground and go for walks outside!
Our First Grade Class has been so busy doing Lent Activities in Religion. We are saying many special prayers and intentions for our family and friends everyday. We are trying to be especially kind to others with our words and actions during this Lenten Season.
We are learning about the Life Cycle of a Plant in Science. We have been doing STREAM activities such as planting a lima bean and documenting all of our observations. We learned many interesting facts about the climate and weather at the Science Museum field trip. One of the favorite activities was going in the Wind Tunnel!
Our class has been sharing our different traditions and cultures from our ancestors in Social Studies. We have been reading different folk tales and how the Irish celebrate St. Patrick’s Day and The Italians St. Joseph Day. The students love learning how different cultures have influenced our music, food, and holiday celebrations.
Our class has been writing How To Essays which enhances the Reading skill of Sequencing. It is amazing of all the different ideas they have of how to do things they enjoy in steps. They really enjoyed sharing all of their ideas and visuals!
Our class have been using the Prodigy website with their own passwords. This program is really helping the students with enhancing their Math skills. Please continue to have your students practice their Math facts through games, flashcards, or any Math computer games they could use.
We are looking forward to our field trip to the Shea’s theater to see ” Elephants and Piggies ” play on April 4th.
Thank you for signing the Agendas on a daily basis and for all that you do!
