Pre-K 4

Hello! I have been teaching for 36 years and have been a part of the St. Amelia family since 2003. I truly enjoy being involved in the preschool program.
Some of my interests outside of school are spending time with friends and family, gardening, cooking, puzzles and hunting for great antiques!

Classroom Information

Happy November!

We have been very busy this past week, working hard and bringing the first quarter to an end. Can you believe it! This is what we’ve been up to.

Science – we took the chapter 1 test. We are now working on the “Mystery Matter” ESP booklet that is a full of STREAM activities that have to do with matter.

Math – We started chapter 2, division. Learning long division is a challenge!

Spelling – We will begin a new lesson this week. Look for new words

ELA – We will be engaging in some Thanksgiving, fiction and non-fiction passages. The students disguised some turkeys and wrote descriptive paragraphs about them. Check them out at conferences! We also have been working with proper and common nouns and will be moving into plurals soon.

Reading – We ave begun a new story this week and will be talking about sequencing events.  Tests are usually every week and a half. Rereading the story at home helps tremendously.

Religion – We have begun Unit 2, the parts of the mass and how the Eucharist is the central part of our Catholic community. Don’t forget to send in your Thanksgiving food basket contributions! Thank you in advance!

Looking Ahead:
