While it is hard to underestimate the creative power of a child, some might find it easy to write off how capable a young person might be to analyze, understand and conceptualize art.
At St. Amelia School, no child is underestimated. Students enrolled are encouraged to express their creativity in all manners of education and learning with the goal of fostering that creativity beyond childhood and into the future.
Mrs. Williams, our Artist in Resident states “The philosophy believes that creativity is just as important as reading, writing and math. We talk to the teachers about what the children are interested in and incorporate art into their learning.”
This year the school hosted “Art Around The World” where every child is an artist and had several pieces of artwork on display and one work of art framed and matted, the work was on display Thursday, June 1, from 4 to 8 p.m. Along with our student’s Artwork inside the building we had six food trucks in our parking lot this year.
