Encore Classes

Multimedia Center – gives students in Grades  K-8 the opportunity for a unique learning experience, by which they develop library reference and research skills, reading and writing skills, cooperative learning skills, literature appreciation, media awareness, and computer skills.    Students work with computers to develop basic computer literacy, word processing,  keyboarding,  graphic artistry,  and  computer research skills.

Foreign Language – Spanish and French are presently the Foreign Languages taught in Grades 6-8.  An exploratory course in Latin is offered to our Grade 5 students.

Music  – offered  in  Gr. K-8  includes  theory,  appreciation,  vocal instruction and liturgical music.

Performing Arts – Dance and Drama classes are taken for one semester each year by students in Grades 6, 7, and 8.  Dance Classes are now offered to all students in grades K- 8.

Art - providing quality instruction in creative expression and design for students in Grades K-8.

Physical Education – The early childhood level (Gr. K & 1) concentrates on a child’s eye-hand coordination, ball handling skills, and finding success in physical movement.  The primary level (Gr. 2-5) and junior high (Gr. 6-8) concentrates on sport skills.  These skills are learned, practiced in lead-up games, and then played in regular games.  These regular games are modified to fit the skill level of each class.  Most importantly, good sportsmanship, physical fitness, personal improvement of skill level, and full participation in class activities is stressed.

Special gym uniform shirts are given to each student at the beginning of the school year and are to be worn on gym days
